If you told me 12 years ago before I retired from the Navy I would be selling cars I would have asked you if you were smoking dope! 15 years ago I would have rather had diesel mechanic do dental work on me than actually go through the car buying process. But here I am. In 2009 I received a phone call from the command that it was my time to retire from the Navy and I could not extend you have 45 days till you retire. Everyone knows that 2009 was not the best time to try and find a job or sell your house and I was (still am) married and had (and still have) 5 kids and had to work. This is how I was introduced to the car sales industry. I have always viewed myself as a different type of salesman since day one. I have always remember those shortened deals I was on as a consumer when I deal with customers today. I hate the negative stigma I have to overcome from generations of sales people in the past. But like I said earlier, for years the buying process has been made painful and it shouldn’t be. This should be a fun and enjoyable process. You (the buyer) or me in the case are the one that is going to walk out to the car or truck for the next 4-5-6 years and pay $400 $500 $600 a month or more and the last thing I want is for the person that bought it from me is to think about a miserable experience every time they get in it.
